New Accoya windows and doors in a new build cottage
New builds are often thought of as being standard ‘boxes’ but for this new build cottage on a farm property, the client wanted the building to be sympathetic with its agricultural setting.
WG Joinery worked with the architect, employed by the client, to manufacture 11 windows and 4 doors and frames, many of which had arched profiles.
We chose Accoya wood for this project. Accoya is a sustainable wood that is sourced from fast-growing, responsibly managed forests and provides durability that exceeds even the best tropical hardwoods. Accoya is also ideal for external windows and doors as it has a 30 year minimum guarantee resistance to fungal attack, rot or infestation. It does not absorb water so window frames and doors will not swell or contract and any finish applied will not degrade through timber movement.
