Bespoke Georgian frame with Pattern 10 Door
For this barn conversion the architect had designed a bespoke Georgian style frame with Pattern 10 door. The feature door and frame was to be in keeping with the period property.
The age of the property meant that the walls were not vertical and the radius not true so not only was the design bespoke, but the manufacture of the door frame had to take into account these differences.
We used a red Sapele hardwood and manufactured with mortise and tenoned joints; radiused on a profile and loosely jointed and dowelled. The finished door was then given a paint treatment.
The finished piece not only let light flood into the entrance hall, it provided a bold design statement that worked with the unique architectural features of the property.
